Primedia Outdoor reminding parents to register scholars
early
September 2010,
Never under estimate the power of outdoor advertising. The Gauteng Department of Education knows that outdoor is a powerful visual medium and through Primedia Outdoor is promoting the fact that parents need to enroll their children into schools by the end of September to ensure that registration runs smoothly for 2011.
Each year thousands of learners register late for school - usually only in January,
which throws the organisation of the new year at many schools into chaos. The
Department of Education is attempting to ensure that learner admissions are completed
by the end of September so that schools can be well organised by January, so
that teaching and learning takes place when schools open.
Through a series of striking billboards situated at key intersections, the Gauteng Department of Education is striving to get its message across to parents that they should not wait for the new-year to enroll their children.
Read with ease by consumers travelling on South Africa's currently peak-traffic roads, the message, 'Registration of Learners in public schools for 2011. Closing date is 23 September', is very easily understood and absorbed.
Says Michael de Charmoy, Chief Operating Officer of Primedia Outdoor, "The Gauteng Department of Education needed to gets its message across to the masses and literally continued to remind them on a daily basis that time is running out to register their children in schools for the new year. Via strategically placed billboards, the one month campaign, is engaging motorists and commuters who are constantly reminded of its message in an unobtrusive manner."
