Primedia (Pty) Ltd

About Primedia (Pty) Ltd

Established in 1994, Primedia (Pty) Ltd has developed into one of South Africa's leading media groups. Located predominantly in South Africa, Primedia has an established portfolio of businesses that principally cover the advertising and content sectors of the media industry.

Primedia's broad base of advertising businesses includes radio broadcasting, outdoor advertising, commuter and other out of home media opportunities. This mix enables Primedia to reach an increasingly fragmented and diverse audience, allowing unparalleled reach across the entire South African consumer spectrum. Primedia's advertising businesses enjoy a high degree of exclusivity derived from regulated rights to various delivery platforms.

The group's content businesses comprise filmed entertainment, consisting of cinema exhibition, film distribution and home entertainment, as well as electronic games. The Primedia Digital division incorporates Primedia's internet, mobile and other content-based businesses.

Primeda's listing on the JSE Securities Exchange was completed in April 2005, but terminated on 1 October 2007, following a successful private equity transaction (scheme of arrangements).
